Purchasing Manager
Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing Manager for a role in the Midwest region of the US. The Purchasing Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and supplies necessary for our manufacturing operations. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, vendor management expertise, and a commitment to optimizing costs while maintaining product quality and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's objectives, ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to achieve the best possible pricing, quality, and delivery.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and optimize inventory levels to ensure on-time production while minimizing excess inventory costs.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze market trends, pricing, and cost structures to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that purchased materials meet or exceed quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the purchasing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies, including ethical and sustainability considerations in procurement.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the department's budget, tracking expenditures and cost-saving initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field- OR Proven relevant experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong negotiation skills and a track record of achieving cost savings.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices.
